My husband and teenage children ski - easy to intermediate slopes. For medical reasons, this year I cannot ski with them. Not to be left out and to be part of the holiday fun I am looking for festive (Christmas atmosphere) accommodation from 23 to 26 December 2005 where I can sit in comfort indoors in a cosy hotel lounge or B%26amp;B lounge (would be nice if theres a warm fire) and while drinking %26quot;gluwein%26quot; I can see my family ski-ing outside through the lounge/hotel room window or from the B%26amp;B veranda. If you know of a ski resort (anywhere in Austria) with accommodation right in the middle of all the snow/ski activities or within easy walking distance to all snow facilities please let me know soonest. I doubt you will find a Chalet where you can watch your family skiing, as much of the skiing is higher up the mountains.
You can however find %26quot;ski in/ski out%26quot; accomodation at the foot of the mountain. This may provide the ambiance you are seeking.
Your local ski travel company may be able to help.

One of the best resorts in Austria is Lech. High altitude almost always guarantees excelent snow.
Just above the town , and half way up the mountain is an area known as Oberlech with several very good hotels.
Access by Cable Car .
the ski trails go on all sides of the hotels.

You can sit in your room or hotel deck and watch the skiers.

If Oberlech is not for you many hotels in the hotel are very close to the lifts too with good views.
