20 yr old female travelling solo from Vienna to Rome..what...

My 20 yr old daughter, travelling alone with three bags, needs to get from Vienna to Rome the last day of January. I need suggestions on the SAFEST way, train, bus, air etc. AND is a young female safe traveling solo??

Air is probably easier as the distance is quite long, but your daughter probably won%26#39;t get a reasonable fare. On the train the safety is slightly less than 100%, especially (probably) for her luggage. It isn%26#39;t really a question of safety - 100% safety doesn%26#39;t exist, but whatever she chooses (train, air) will be pretty safe. Except probably hithhiking. Bus is not an option btw...

Concerning flying skyscanner.com indicates there are still flights from Vienna to Rome for abt. 90 Euro one way available - book quickly!

Thanks so much. Safety is primary and with her bags, the distance, and being solo I would prefer her to fly. Looked up the flight and she will be booking. Thanks!!!

Definitely fly! It´s safe, and quick. It´s a very long and incomfortable train trip from Vienna to Rome. There are very good deals on flights, since January is low season: Check http://www.aua.com/us/eng (Austrian airlines)In general, Austria/Vienna is very safe concerning personal safety, you don´t need to be too worried about being attacked. Still, like in other places there is always a small risk of thefts in case you leave your valuables/luggage unattended.
