This question is sad I know but it’s something that I’ve been thinking about – and you simply have to ask.
Why do the Vienna Boys Choir wear sailors outfits when Vienna has no navy?

During the time of the Austrian Empire (until 1918) Austria had a large navy.
The Empire extended from Poland to the Balkans-thus access to the sea.Triest was a major base among other places.
Good reason for the sailor outfits.
