hi niamho, well one thing i have to say is you dont have to panick and rush off and get things now!! i started getting everything ages ago and then i couldnt do anything because most of the legal jargon has to be within 6 months of your wedding date! so i have had plenty of time to sit back and dread the whole thing now!! my sister wants to organise my hen and i am so nervous of it all, i am telling her not to bother, dont want a big fuss! its mad i really want to be married but its just very scary in reality. I think its the fear of the unknown, bringing all these folk over to austria and what if they think its crap!! I still have not heard from the priest, i have rang him and left a message and faxed him but nothing back. i have got all the forms and my priest is going to send it off now. but i would like to know the priest is available on the day! Do u have many people travelling? will it still be cold in march? Do u get a weird reaction when u tell people? I am so silly cause i get really confused when people start asking me am i mad getting married in the snow!! I start thinking i have made such a big mistake. If u ring foreign affairs and they will put u through to the girl who deals with weddings abroad. she will send u the forms u need to get signed and a list of the stuff u need. Go to your priest and he will tell u what u need as well (like baptismal ,confirmation certs) and thats it!buy a dress and a fur wrap and you are ready. i always look at the photos of heitzmann weddings for reassurance and there are some lovely ones. i always think the ones with the priest are irish so i am not alone!!! let me know how u r getting on.

Hi All, just found this site and its great to find others getting married in Austria! We are planning to marry in Jan 2007 in Zell am see. Has anyone married there and stayed at Heitzman Hotel. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

I am due to fly on Saturday and get married on the 28th of this month and it has been the easiest process ever. I am such a disorganised person but the airtours have made it so easy for us. We went down the travel agents route booking the wedding and the hotel owners are great too, we have emailed them a few times. My grandparents live in belgium and in august they took a trip to the hotel Heitzmann to check it out for us and were very impressed and it takes alot to impress my grandad, he does alot of traveling, and said the food served was excellent and the owners were extremely friendly and gave them a tour even though they weren%26#39;t even staying at the hotel.

When we get back I will email you our final verdict if you wish, to put your mind at rest...........

Hi Ladies,

Well I am really get set for the wedding now - got my first dress fitting and it all hit home that I am going to get Wed - is in%26#39;t a great feeling. Anyways I have all my paper work done - Mossy thanks a mill for all the advise - you were a big help.
