Now that the central aisle of booths selling Christmas items have dissapeared, I can see on the webcams that some sort of open air event is being planned and the huts along the sides are still there and seem to be lit up.
What are the huts selling?

This will become one of the central areas for celebrations of the New Year.
A large screen and stage will be erected near the Rathaus for music provided almost all day of the 31st.
If as in prior years, they will also give waltz lessons here too.
The stands you see will be used to sell food , drink and accessories for New Years.
Immediately after New Years all will be removed and a nice ice skating rink will be erected here for two months.
