Thanks so much, Vertical.

Hi Vertical

We just got back from our weekend in Vienna, and your previous posts, one to us and one to someone else, helped us to get the most out of our brief holiday. First, your recommendation for the Reinthalers Beisl restaurant was the best. On our first evening we went there to eat, and our only concern was that once we ate food that was so good, how could we find another restaurant in Vienna to match it? Well, the next night we went to another place not too far away (recommended in a guide book)and it was good, but the same dish there cost almost 3.00 Euros more than at the Beisl, and did not taste quite as good. So, on our last day, before catching our flight, we went back to the Beisl for lunch. A super ending to our holiday.

Next time we go we might try your other recommendation on Ottakringerstrasse 226. What is it called? If we stay in a hotel close to the S-Bahn Rennweg station, how do we get there?

Another interesting point about the benefits of having such good imput from people like you who contribute to this website is that during our first meal at the Beisl we shared a table with 3 Austrians who were also on holiday. One of the gentlemen recommended the Figlmuller restaurant, which I had read alot about on this website. When he offered to show me on a map where it is, I told him I know what he is referring to. To this he said he is referring to another location. So, I showed him my copy of your comment which states the adress of the larger location. He was surprised that I was so well informed about this. Thanks to your info.

The other area you helped us in is to find a good store to buy classical cds. Originally we wanted a copy of Stolz%26#39;s New Years concert, but had no success there. On the other hand we did find a selection of Vienese music conducted by Stolz, which we bought and are enjoying now. I can%26#39;t think of a better way to remember our trip to Vienna.

Thanks again.
