Airport Noise

There are some really great sounding B%26amp;Bs along the Mousstrasse south of Salzburg but it seems really close to the airport.

Has anyone stayed along this strip and does the airport noise really affect the apparent peace and quiet of the area?

Hi. I stayed at a B%26amp;B on a steet near Moosstrasse (which I think is what you mean) and I couldn%26#39;t hear anything from the airport. The link below shows a map for the hotel where I stayed and part of Moosstrasse is shown on the map. By the way, I think this is a great area to stay. It%26#39;s much less expensive than staying in the city center and you feel like you are staying in a charming neighborhood. Hope this helped.

We%26#39;ve stayed south of the city many times and have never noticed any noise from the airport. It%26#39;s not an incredibly busy airport so there is no constant noise. I agree that it%26#39;s a nice area to stay. You can be in the centre of the city within minutes on the bus but you are out of the hustle and bustle and the scenery is stunning.

Salzburg airport is operated between 6:00am and 10:00pm only. In addition, only modern (hence fairly silent) aircraft are permitted and most of the landing and takeoff is performed to the north -%26gt; away from Moosstrasse!

Trust me, I am living about 1/4 mile away from the airport ....
