Skiing at Hintertux in late May/early June

Hi everyone!

I have the opportunity to ski the last week of May 2006 at Hintertux and just wanted to get some thoughts on this idea. The accommodation is at Vorderlanersbach.

I ski each year in Australia... and ski our intermediate runs and some advanced.

I know it%26#39;s early summer... but any opportunity to ski in Austria just seems too good to pass up!

Is it difficult to get from Munich to Vorderlanersbach?

All advice and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Enjoy your time on the glacier.

This is not a bad time to go as snow conditions at least to the mid- station should be good and fewer skiers.

While you can travel from Munich to the Zillertal ( Mayrhofen) by train and then take a bus to Lanersbach, a rental car is probably much easier for transport( time a little more than 2 hours- most autobahn driving) and good to have for your trip from your hotel in Lanersbach to Hintertux lift station.

A number of good hotels in Hintertux not far from the lifts too. Have you looked at these.

Glacier terrain is good for intermediate skier. Nice run rom the top to the mid station. Stay on the marked ski runs.
