Hi everyone.
OK here is what we are looking for,
Good snow (Obviously)
Good ski area for decent intermediate skiers
Great nightlife
Apres ski that ISNT a total rip off.
St Anton seems to tick the boxes but we dont know how expensive it is compared to some of the french rip off resorts
Any advice welcome
Thanks
Alvin

I was in St Anton for the first time over New Years, so hopefully I can help you....
It will definitely have good snow as it is high up. We had fantastic powder snow, but it FREEZING!
You have access to several resorts all over Alberg which can be reached by bus or train, I believe. We were only there 3 days so we snowboardeded in St Anton, St Christoph and Rendl, which were all good. Lots of runs for good skiers/snowboarders, and more than enough for the intermediate.
We made the mistake of bying a ski pass for the whole region which was VERY expensive (€110 for 3 days). I would suggest you stick to one resort for a few days and only buy a pass for that resort if possible.
The town of St Anton is pretty big and busy, with lots of options to eat out and go out. The only Apres ski we checked out was Krazy Kangaruh and it was great. Had fun snowboarding home after a few beers in the dark!
Make sure you stay in ST Anton though. We booked late and got last-miute accommodation in the nearby town of Pettneu, which was great. The skibus ran once an hour to the slopes so getting there wasn’t a problem. However, the taxi back at 8pm (last skibus was at 6pm) cost us €27 to go 6 kms! Rediculous!
I havent been to any resorts in France, so cant comment on the difference in Price. However, my favourtite resort in Austria is still St Johann im Tirol near Kitzbuhel. Its fairly small, but big enough to keep you busy for a week. The nightlife isnt mad, but there are enough pubs to have a laugh. There are several reasonably priced restaurants with good food, the ski pass is cheaper and I still think Apres Ski at Max Bar is the best!
