Can anyone out there suggest the best method and most economical mode of transport from Vienna airport to the Deutschmeister Hotel on the 24th December?
Many thanks

It depends somewhat on the number of people traveling together.
If you are alone
2 good ways-
1. Exit from the Arrivals Hall to the city transfer bus just outside.
Take the bus to the Sudbahnhof - cost 6 euros one way ; 11 roundtrip You can buy your ticket from the driver. Bus leaves about every 20 minutes trip takes about 25 minutes.
for more info on bus ;
www.flughafenwien.at ( english too ) click on bus etc.
At Sudbahnhof - buy a city transport ticket from automatic machine ( 1.50 euro )
walk across the street to the stop for streetcar %26quot; D%26quot; this is the end station for this line so it will only go in one direction.
Take streetcar %26quot; D%26quot; to Schlickgasse stop. ( map on car). about 15-20 minute ride.
Get off at Schlickgasse stop turn left as you exit the car and walk up the street - one or two streets to Gruenentorstrasse - turn right on Gruenentorstrasse to the hotel at #30- not far
Total transfer time - 50 minutes- 1 hour+-
2. take the S train ( not the Cat train )from the airport (1.50 euro and a city transport ticket for 1.50 euros.) to Landmitte -station 30 minutes At Landmitte transfer to subway U-3 direction Ottakring
exit subway at Volkstheater stop- follow signs for streetcar %26quot;D%26quot; direction to Nussdorf .
on %26quot; D%26quot; just follow the above.
I recommend the bus and streetcar - less transfer hassle.- cost total 7.50 euros.
Or if several are traveling together consider an airport transfer service- cost 25 euros +-
this method is especially good if you have heavy luggage as it is %26quot; Door to Door %26quot;
