goldener hirsch festival wing

My husband and I and our 9 year old will be in Salzburg for 5 nights over the Christmas period. We have booked a room in the Festival Wing of the Golden Hirsch. Does any know if the rooms in that wing are reasonably sized and if they are likely to have any view. At that price, I am also interested to know if they are relatively sound proof. The hotel has recommended their Christmas eve dinner which has been favourably reviewed by many. Our 9 year old is used to eating out but does anyone know if it is appropriate to bring a child that age along? Many thanks

The Goldner Hirsch is a very special place no matter what room you stay in. It is an experience rather then just a Hotel. They have two resturants. Herzel is their more casual resturant but the food is superb and I think you will find a nine year old quite comfortable there. The breakfast in the hotel is quite nice as well. I don%26#39;t think you will be disappointed. The staff is wonderful. Have a great time. Christmas is a wonderful time to visit Salzburg.

We just got back from a stay at the Goldener Hirsch. We stayed in a Festival Room and it was very roomy. Two twins joined as king (very common in Europe) a sofa, 2 chairs, coffee table, 2 end tables and a desk with plenty of room to add a rollaway for your son.

Nice spacious bathroom and separate toilet area. Wonderful heated marble floors in the bathroom areas. Lots of closet space. Contact the hotel and ask them if you have a Festival Room in the Festival wing, if you are concerned, as they bellman told us they had 4 buildings total that make up the hotel. The hotel was wonderful with a great buffet breakfast. Very old world feel to it. Great location. Try the restaurant right next door called the Blaue Gans. Amazing food. Try the venison and wild boar. Didn%26#39;t think I would like it. It was delicious. Have a wonderful stay. Salzburg is beautiful. We didn%26#39;t have a view of anything in particular. With windows closed, the room was quiet. I would imagine the Christmas Eve dinner would be lovely.
