My 2 daughters and I are looking for a home base to do day trips and ski a little. Innsbruck looks good; any thoughts? We want to experience the true %26quot;Austrian%26quot; deal with down comforters, pine armoires, etc. All help aprreciated!

Haven%26#39;t stayed in Innsbruck but have been there several times. I would recommend Seefeld which is just a short train ride away and the scenery on the trip is incredible. We have gone several times but always in the late fall and stay at the Baronet Hotel and Apartments. The apartments are across the street from the hotel and typical Tyrolean style with balcony, etc. Seefeld has fabulous indoor swimming arena, I think it is called the Olympiad. Easy access to train only 2 blocks away. We have travelled as far as Berschesgarten (sp?) to see Hitler%26#39;s Eagles Nest and came back to our apt the same day.
