Vienna to Budapest -one day visit

Do you think it is possible to do a one day trip to budapest. we would like to visit Szentendre. Is it safe travelling back by train late at night?

Hi, it depends on you... you will stay a long time on a train!

All trains are safe... don%26#39;t worry!

Vienna to Budapest not the problem. many train connections. from budapest to Szentendre:

the trains from Vienna arrive either at Keleti pu or Deli pu. both trains stations are also stops on the M2 (subway in Budapest). you%26#39;ll have to take that subway to the stop Batthyany tér and there change to the suburban rail system (HÉV). trains to Szentendre leave there. that trip takes about 45 minutes. if you just want to walk the city that%26#39;s it.

if you want to visit the open air museum for what it%26#39;s famous for you need to take the local bus #7 - these schedules can vary.

check out the following pages: www.urbanrail.net all subway maps online (also the suburban rain) all stops I mentioned are to be found. and also www.sznm.hu the site is translated and gives lots of information. also their e-mail address, might consider contacting them!
