We are lucky enough to get tickets for the Strauss Concert in Vienna and was just hoping that someone out there could help us with what is worth seeing in Vienna in our short stay. Do most of the palaces etc close for a week over Christmas?

Most things are open during this period including Palaces.
However you will find large numbers of tourists , especially from Italy.
Restaurants in the center of the city become very crowded so make reservations if you want to eat at a special place.
