We are planning a ski trip to Kitzbuhel. What are the conditions like the middle of February. Can you ski a different area each day (6 day trip) and do you know any hotels which include half-board and skipass.

February is %26quot; High Season %26quot; in the ski regions. Other than Christmas, the most crowded and costly of the winter.
Conditions in Kitzbuhel can often be not the best especially on lower slopes.
They have a much improved snow making system to try to rectify this.
Kitzbuhel suffers from being at a much lower altitude than most ski resorts in the Alps
This can cause a problem during warm weather times.
Last year saw much snow everywhere, but you never know what can happen.
But, Kitzbuhel forms part of an extensive %26quot; Ski Circus%26quot; and offers many opportunities. It is a fun party town and many other resorts are nearby.
Most hotels offer %26quot; Ski Packages%26quot; half board with skipass. Only a few will not.
Look to the Kitzbuhel website. Too many hotels in all categories
to comment on. Each person has their own likes and budget.
Search for what you like.

%26quot;Vertical%26quot; gives a good summary. If conditions are %26quot;fraglich%26quot; (i.e. questionable) there are other places not too far from K. The Kitssteinhorn nesr Kaprun is glacier skiing. Not very challenging, but at least there%26#39;s skiing when every other place has lousy snow.

I considered this last year, but ended up staying in Innsbruck and traveling to a couple of other areas. Spent most of the time in St. Anton. Conditons were much better, and the variety of terrain in the Lech/Zurs/St. Anton complex would take weeks to cover. Innsbruck was a great location for all of teh Austrian Alps, and was MUCH cheaper than staying slopeside. Will be back the first week of March.

Hello. I%26#39;ve skied kitzbuhel in febuary and believe me it is absolutely fantastic.The world downhill had just ended before we arrived but the celebrations were just starting.The snow wasn%26#39;t exactly brilliant but good enough for just about anyone.I%26#39;ve been a few times with no complaints so far. It is definately worth going.The hotel TYROL can sort you out with everything you need and it is right in the center of the village with only a two minute walk to the cable car and ski center.Have a good holiday.
