Schloss Wilhelminenberg, too far away?

I found quite great deal for Schloss Wilhelminenberg hotel and I was wondering is it too far away?

The thing is that it seems there doesn%26#39;t go any night busses to the Wilgeminenberg, is that correct? 244 euros for 5 nights in single room in such hotel seems to be cheap in Viennese standards.

the lastest subway goes 00.27 from Stephansplatz till Ottakring but then you have to walk or take a taxi

there is no nightbus to the hotel or ottaking the N46 brings you to Ottaking and then you need a taxi.

Wilhelminenberg (%26quot;Wilhelmine%26#39;s hills%26quot; in translation) is a nice place (you have a charming restaurant around a corner called %26quot;Villa Aurora%26quot;), but it%26#39;s absolutely far away from everything. And the rest of the district %26quot;Ottakring%26quot; is not particularly nice. So if you want to be in the centre (or at least near to), you have to switch to an another hotel. Have you tried Hotel Altstadt ? it%26#39;s a fab hotel in the 7th district, often having good deals.

Hotels seems to be so expensive (I%26#39;m going in Novemeber-December), there are couple cheap ones: Pension Madara 2 costs only 175 euros for 5 nights and the reviews aren%26#39;t THAT bad...

check out Ibis Hotel (the one on the Schönbrunner str. is quite convenient for castle, naschmarkt, city, etc.) - they tend to have good deals. Or %26quot;Korotan%26quot; in the 8th district, %26quot;Gabriel%26quot; in the 3rd, %26quot;Am brillantengrund%26quot; (7th), %26quot;Lucia%26quot; near Schönbrunn (basically, you should stay within the districts 1-9, they are the central ones and the public traffic is excellent in Vienna).

Nov-Dec. is a nice time in Vienna, and as a %26quot;nordman%26quot; you won%26#39;t mind the cold weather, probably. go for the %26quot;adventsmarkt%26quot;, the one in Spittelberg (7th district) is particularly nice, there is also one in the courtyard of the castle Schönbrunn. let me know if you have any other questions.

I will be visiting Vienna the week before Christmas and based on the reviews on this site i booked this hotel as the feedback i read was very positive. I%26#39;m a little worried now as I never read these posts before i booked so I will give my own feedback on my return
