Anyone tried a Mozart dinner/concert

I believe they are held at Stiftskeller St. Peter, costing 45 euros per ticket.

Yep, I%26#39;ve been to it twice with the last time being in June. I really liked it. The music and singing (pieces from different operas) is beautiful. The food was pretty good, but the music and the ambiance are what it%26#39;s all about. The room where they have the dinner and concert is absolutely gorgeous. Plan to come a little early so you can admire it before everything starts. They do get you with the drinks though. Drinks are not included, and they won%26#39;t bring you tap water. Austrians don%26#39;t really drink tap water, only bottled water. They have a decent wine selection but they%26#39;re expensive and they only take cash. Overall, I think it%26#39;s a lovely experience well worth the money. Be sure to check out St. Peter%26#39;s church and cemetary right next to the restaurant. The church is one of my favorites in Europe and I%26#39;ve see a lot. Enjoy!!

Yes, we%26#39;ve been to this venue for the Mozart Dinner Concert. We went in May this year, on a glorious warm evening. One huge plus point is the room is entirely non-smoking. The baroque hall is stunning and the tables are beautifully laid out. We were gobsmacked as they showed us to our table. We were right beside the tiny stage, close enough to touch the singers (if we%26#39;d been so inclined). We had the vegetarian option and to be honest it wasn%26#39;t that good. The soup and dessert were great though. I was very moved by the singing and was reduced to tears by La Ci Darem La Mano from Don Giovanni. It was funny because once I started blubbing other women on our table started too. The singing is interspersed by the food courses so it%26#39;s a long, relaxed evening. The wine was pricey so be prepared for that. It is very much a tourist performance and I guess high-brow opera lovers wouldn%26#39;t be that impressed, but I adore Mozart and loved every minute of the evening. The soprano was wonderful. I hesitate to go back because the evening was so perfect the first time.

The restaurant is one of the oldest in Europe, dating to something like 800. The food was excellent when I went: lemon cream cinnamon soup, a veal entree, and partially frozen honey parfait. But it%26#39;s not for the food I went, but the music, of course! The performance favors Mozart%26#39;s opera works, on my evening featuring pieces from The Marriage of Figaro and The Magic Flute, but also including A Little Night Music and a short ensemble piece. The singing was suberb, and also included a moderate bit of stage action. Quite a wonderful evening, all in all.

Also check out the Strauss/Mozart performancecs at Stadtpark while in Vienna. An energetic concert!

I tried to book tickets for St-Peter%26#39;s/Baroque Hall for Christmas Day - but it%26#39;s sold out. However, there are tickets for St Peter%26#39;s/Haydn Hall. Does anyone know the difference?
