any cheap and less crowded ski resort for beginners?

Hi,

I%26#39;m thinking of planning a short trip to a cheap, good and less crowded ski resort in Europe during the New Year holidays. I%26#39;m a total beginner, so hope to find somewhere that is easy to ski and where it provides skiing lessons. Anyone can recommend? Will it be easy to get there from the airport?

You can not find cheap, good and not crowded at Holiday time.

Can you go at another time - example middle January?

St Johan is quite good for beginners, and its a lot smaller than most places. I have been there the last 2 years with beginners. Try stay in Self catering accommodation (an apartment) as that will bring your cost down to about €25-30/night/person. You can also make your own breakfast and dinners, which will cut your food costs down. There are a few shops in town to buy groceries. It also has several ski schools.

For even cheaper try Italy, Andorra or maybe Bulgaria. They are generally cheaper beacuse they dont attract the huge crowds that Austria, Switzerland and France get. This is because the mountains are not as high and the runs not as good. This wont affect you as a beginner. But, you wont have the apres ski atmosphere that you get in Austria!
