Does your daughter ski with the ski club in the slope? If not then why not find out about it and join? This has many good skiers who will help you and give advice, particularly families with children. You may find another family that you can link up with.
With a 10 yr old you are limited to choice of dates, half term is expensive and already pretty well booked for February 2007, Christmas and New Year are also expensive and getting booked up for 2006, so you may be best with the Easter holidays, as early as possible. If you are thinking of taking her out of school then March will probably be warmer for you and Nan.
You need somewhere quite high for Easter. I think that Val d%26#39;Isere might suit you. This has apartments by the slopes, the ski school meeting places are easy to get to and some of the ski schools do all day lessons (with lunch) for a child of that age. It%26#39;s an interesting village for non-skiers.
In Austria you could try Mayrhofen or Obergurgl, these will have English speaking ski school, the accomodation will probably be B%26amp;B.
