when do they start putting on Christmas lights?

Forgot to ask, when do they start decorating Vienna for Christmas?

Here, it seems to be a tradition to start decorating right after Thanksgiving(I mean the very next day!)

We do not have Thanksgiving in Austria!

Most decorations will be up by the beginning of December or just before so the time frame is much alike.

The first Sunday of Advent would see everything done and a very large Advent wreath in place on Graben , a major shopping area.

Numerous streets will have Christmas lights and decorations across them to make for a festive time. As it will be dark by 4:30 Pm is is very nice to walk the streets with Christmas lights everywhere.

I was at Neurmarkt in the 1st district(near Stephansdom) this evening and they were installing the lights.

Some lights are already on today.

Graben gets all new lighting and decorations this year. They look to be very nice. It appears the Advent Wreath placed in prior years will not be used- probably the new things will more than replace this.

Drink some Punsch when you visit!
