Parking in Vienna

hello from NZ,

Staying at Hotel Ananas. Recommended by our travel agent, although I am a bit concerned with the reviews posted. My concern is parking. We are on a self drive holiday through Europe, so will need somewhere to park the car in Vienna, near the hotel. I understand they have very limited parking themselves. Would really appreciate some advice on good, safe parking near the hotel.

Thanks

Hello,

did you check the hotel website: http://www.austria-trend.at/en/?id=WAN

The website says that the hotel inhouse garage is EUR 15,- per day, they have space for 35 cars. I guess any nearby public garage would be more expensive. Parking in the street is not possible because all inner districts of Vienna (districts 1-9; Ananas is located in 5th district) are short time limited parking area, max. 2 hrs parking, valid Mon-Fri 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.; exceptions only for local residents. So you would get a ticket.

I suggest you contact the reception desk of the hotel and make a reservation for parking in the hotel inhouse garage.

enjoy your stay

(I think Ananas certainly not among the exciting hotels of Vienna, but I hope it will be o.k...)

I agree with prior poster about parking problems and the hotel.

If you must - take the hotel parking at 15 euros. A regular inner city garage is about 35 euros per day.

Do not attempt to park on the street- the police like to give tickets.

The alternative is to park on the street in one of the outer districts ( like 18 or 18) near a street car line. No cost , except for your transport ticket.

One good place is near the #38 line near to Grinzing.
