1-PLUS-Freizeitticket - Innsbruck to Salzburg by train

Hi, I%26#39;ll be travelling from Innsbruck to Salzburg by train with 2 friends on boxing day. The normal fare is about 33 euros each. I saw something on the Austrian railways website about a 1-PLUS-Freizeitticket fare for small group travel. Does any one know how this works, or if I would be able to use it?

Or would it be cheaper to catch the train back into Germany and travel on the 29 euro Bayern day ticket to Salzburg that allows up to 5 adults.

Our experience in Upper Austria was that the ticket offfice automatically gave us the cheapest ticket on nearly every occasion.

With 1plusFreizeit the first adult pays a small supplement then additional travellers are at a low rate. I%26#39;d expect the Innsbruck to Salzburg rate to be, say, 40 euros for the 3 of you if the fare is available on that trip.

The 1-Plus-Ticket is the ticket you need. It will given to you automatically. Also if you use the ticket machines and enter 2 adults it will only offer you the 1-Plus-Ticket.

There%26#39;s no way to use the Bayern-Ticket as most trains Innsbruck-Salzburg don%26#39;t stop in Germany, so german tickets are not valid.
