Last summer I went to Kitzbuehel and fell in love with it. So imediatelly I booked the week from 29th Dec to 6th Jan. Now I started reading forums about: how crowded it is... you have to wait 15 minutes for each lift... no snow... bad piste conditions and so on... and I do not know whom to believe. I am a very experienced skier so I do not know what to expect. Is it going to be more crowded than in Corvara last New Year? Any experience in Kitzbuehel over New year? ( I will be staying across the street from gondola, in Schweizerhof hotel)

Hard question- some of your answers really depend on the weather.
Kitz realizes the problems and tries to improve snow making ( need cold weather) and new lifts.
Careful planning of skiing can keep you higher up in the mountains as poorer conditions may be found very low near to town.
Yes, it is an %26quot; In Spot%26quot; and a great time.
It will get crowded. But a great party.
Try to get up early - many do not start to ski before 10.
An experieced skiier can have a good time with too many people and little wait.
Also many stop to eat 12-14 on the mountains ( ski schools also stop then)and this is also a time when things are less crowded.

Last year had poor snow at New Year, it didn%26#39;t really start to snow in most places until 18th December, so there was no snow base and poor conditions. This year may be better, Kitzbuhel is already open, with about 6 lifts running. There are a few new lifts at Kitzbuhel, plus a link with Westendorf, so this may help.
It%26#39;s worth realising that people complain on forums. When they complain about 15 minutes for lifts they mean that once or twice they waited this long.
The tips in the last post were good, try to get out early on New Year%26#39;s day when everyone else is still in bed. By about 2nd Jan they will be going home and the last few days should be fairly empty.
Have a good trip, enjoy yourself.

Yes it can be done - I would also advise looking at a KITZBUHELER ALPEN PASS if you have a car as it gives you access to other places like Ski Welt, Hinterglem etc. well worth it if you like different skiing each day. They are not far away at all and with a car you can avoid the queues - but to be honest if your sensible with skiing times and places (you know what I mean) the queues are not bad at all.

I don%26#39;t remember the conditions being too bad last year. Yes,it will be busy but you can pick and choose where to go. As an experienced skier, you will probably find the red and black runs better as they may be less busy. I%26#39;m sure you%26#39;ll have a great time! This will be my fourth New Year in Kitzbuhel.
