We have never been skiing before - can anybody help please!
Is there always snow around 27thDecember in Seefeld?
Restaurants - how much is it to eat out, we have 3 children!
Is this a good place to go for first time family skiing?
we were going to fly to Innsbruck, or is it a good idea to go via Munich?

Seefeld is a good place for first time on skis.
Most alpine resorts recently received a good amount of snow already.
Seefeld has snowmaking ability also - so snow should not be a big problem.
My advice - join a ski school- it is worth the cost.
But this is a very busy time and you will have big crowds of people.
Shop for a restaurant in your price range. Most will have the menu posted just outside the entrance.
They range from a pizza place to luxury type.
Look to buy some things at the market in the center of town, especially with 3 kids such as midday food, drinks snacks, drinks etc. saves much money.
Innsbruck is much closer to Seefeld ( perhaps 30-40 minutes) but you may find cheaper flights to Munich.

I would fly into Munich. My wife and I take this trip every Christmas. We get into Munich around 3:40 PM. We stay at the Renaisance Hotel (suite 99 Euros). We go down to the Marienplatz for the Christmas Market (kids will love this). The U bahn station is only 100 meters from the hotel. We then go to the hofbrahaus. The next day after a huge buffet breakfast (included in room rate)we head off to Seefeld. This takes about an hour an a half on average. You can get a cheaper flight to Munich, and the car rentals are less expensive. In Seefeld there is a plethora of things to do. The town is open on Christmas day, boxing day, etc. They have lots of activities. As far as eating, there are numerous inexpensive restaurants in town. There is a deli at the Spar supermarket (right in downtown). Seefeld is very pedestrian friendly (No traffic inside the town). They have great walking trails. You can take one trail and buy corn to feed reindeer and long horn sheep, and other sorts of animals along the way. The kids will love it. There is a great indoor pool, which lets out to an outdoor hot tub/pool where you can watch the sun set on the mountains. I wholeheartedly suggest Seefeld. It%26#39;s my favorite Austrian town!

Hi - saw this posting and was intrigued. J McKay - on which trail can you feed the reindeer - we%26#39;ve been a few times, including last Christmas and are going again in a few weeks time. Also, does anyone know a number for hot air balloon flights over Seefeld?
Thanks.
