Hi

Writing as an ex-chalet gal of 3 seasons (1 at the Ski Heaven of St Anton)- the experience of people staying in a chalet is as good as the chalet gal/boy that happens to be there. The facilities should be good as I found the Austrian facilities to be of a far superior standard to their Swiss counterparts. I have been a guest on two St Anton chalet hols - the standard of food on the first one was ok and the second - bloody awful. I never got round to complaining but the other guests in that chalet made it all worthwhile.

St Anton is not cheap and that is also reflected in the ski hire prices - pretty much a cartel operation. You might find around 3 Euros difference in price. Jennewein%26#39;s is the largest with a few stores dotted around. One way of getting superior ski hire is say you are looking to buy skis so you can try 3 different pairs of test skis and then just go for bog standard for the rest of the hol. Alternatively - hire over here and take over but ski carriage plus hire plus potential problems makes for better off hiring over there.

One thing you must do - go to the Mooserwirt, dance on the tables to YMCA, I Will Survive and ski down in the dark!! Remember that dinner is served at 8!!!

Enjoy!!! I%26#39;ve converted everyone I%26#39;ve taken to St Anton!

Agree with prior poster regarding rental prices- almost all alike.

Just look for one convenient for you- not worth shopping around to save 1-2 euros for the week.
