We will be in Vienna on Oct 26. Are there National Day events? Is everything closed? Is it easier for a traveler to skip this day?
We only have 2 days for Vienna, but could go a different day.

Stores and banks are closed. Most tourist sights and museums are open!
The Heldenplatz area ( next to the Hofburg Palace) wil have many displays from Austrian History to military items.
Many places such as Heldenplatz,are crowded as most people do not work that day!
