Salzburg in October

What is the weather like in October, 24th onwards, I am thinking of visiting then, but wonder if it willl be a bit grey and gloomy before the snow comes but after the summer sun, or is it nice in the Autumn/Fall. Thanks

September until about mid-October is a very good travel period, as far as wqeather is concerned. When it gets into late October, early November the weather gets a bit iffy. It will be cool, the days will be relatively short (Salzburg is on about the same latitude as Duluth. MN), and it%26#39;s more likely to rain.

Hi. I%26#39;ve been to Salzburg during all seasons and fall is my favorite. October is a great month to go! There will be far fewer tourists and the weather should still be ok for walking. If you have the option to go earlier in October, you will lessen the chance that it%26#39;ll snow. I think Salzburg is so amazingly beautiful after it has snowed though. I really don%26#39;t think Salzburg can be gloomy - it%26#39;s just so enchanting despite the weather. Have a great time!

October is great month to travel to Salzburg and Europe in general. No crowds but weather is still good. It is chilly. Bring a warm jacket you will be fine. Enjoy.

July and August were the rainiest, greyest months there this year. Check out the weather by looking at the webcams on

www.panoramablick.com but don%26#39;t pay any attention to the Mozartplatz/denkmal ones because they%26#39;re out of order and haven%26#39;t changed since May. The best one to look at is Museum de Moderne. It%26#39;s been glorious there today.
