found their website: www.hargita.at

christmas markets, always fun and really get you into that whole spirit thing! probably the nicest are the two smallest.

%26quot;Freyung%26quot; www.altwiener-markt.at (unfortunately only german) last day is the 23rd so I don%26#39;t know if you could make it there.

%26quot;Spittelberg%26quot; doesn%26#39;t have a website, it%26#39;s an area around Spittelberggasse, three little streets decorated and so charming!

bigger xmas-markets:

%26quot;Schloß Schönbrunn%26quot; in front of the Palace, in the evening when everythin is lit up - just beautiful! www.weihnachtsmarkt.co.at

the biggest and probably the most known is in front of the city hall (Rathausplatz) www.christkindlmarkt.at - it%26#39;s getting worse every year, practically a tourist trap with mostly food %26amp; drink stalls and overpriced gifts nobody needs (if you%26#39;re lucky you can get some really beautiful things too!). also, hold on to your things really well - pickpockets everywhere. at night that place is packed! but again a beautiful setting in front of city hall.

also worth a visit, but a little off the %26quot;tourist track%26quot; would be the Weihnachtsdorf in the old hospital (Altes AKH-UniCampus) www.weihnachtsdorf.at - site is only in german. as I said there you%26#39;ll mostly find locals so they probably don%26#39;t think they need a translated website.

the market specialized on arts %26amp; crafts is at Karlsplatz www.divinaart.at great setting in front of Charles Church!

even if you%26#39;re only here for 36 hours you%26#39;ll get a xmas feeling whereever you%26#39;ll go!
