Vienna Woods

We will be in Vienna Dec 20-26; would like to take a day trip to the Vienna Woods. Any suggestions? How about a Hueriger Tavern?

You can take the streetcar #38 to Grinzing.

Many wine taverns there. just walk along the street and lookat each until you find that you like.

In Grinzing you can take the bus 38A just across the street from the streetcar station up to Kahlenberg for a nice view of Vienna and preview of the Woods.

Numerous marked trails allow you to walk back to Grinzing or the neighbor village of Nussdorf where you can also find nice heuriger.

If you do decide to walk remember that it gets dark at about 16:30 ( 4:30)
