Crowne Plaza

staying in the Crowne Plaza hotel Sunday 29th to the 2nd .. reviews and infomation on the area around the hotel would be helpful

also need to book a hotel for the 28th for just the one night .. any recommendations?

Typical Holiday Inn- rooms look the same everywhere in the world I think.

The only plus for this one is the fact that it is near to the UN ofices and Vienna Center.

Assume you stay there for one of these.

No other reason to stay there as it is not in the center of the city. Numerous office blocks nearby - but not too much at night to do in winter.

You can take the U-bahn - U-1 ( subway )to city center for sightseeing, restaurants , shopping etc.

This is about a 10 minute ride and a station is near the hotel.

This area of the hotel is much better visited in summer as it is near to the Danube with associated activities and great nightlife. But no help now.

With access to activities using the U-bahn, I would recommend staying at this hotel also on the 28th.

It saves time and trouble of moving and packing.
